  • Maah Skin Perfect Day CBD Cream Review (My Go-To?)

I've noticed lots of changes in my skin recently. I've turned 30 and been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - a hormonal condition of which dry skin is one of many side effects. Adding this to my already combination-oily, dehydrated skin I need one super product to help! I've been sent the Perfect Day Cream by new British CBD skincare brand Maah Skin. The day cream is packed with natural goodness including CBD - renowned for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties along with hyaluronic acid and vitamins A, C and E. Has it been enough to tackle my highly problematic skin? Let's find out... Maah Skin Perfect Day Cream Product Highlights: Formulated to hydrate, balance and moisturise skin Non-greasy and lightweight formula Soaks straight in for soft, plumped and radiant skin 250mg of CBD to nourish skin with fatty acids, calm breakouts, redness and sensitivity Hyaluronic acid penetrate every layer of skin to provide hydration Contains shea butter & oat silk for rich moisturisation, smoothing and softening Formulated wtih vitamins A, C, & E which are powerful sources of antioxidants for brightening, softening, and protecting against signs of ageing Available HERE for £38 Maah Skin Perfect Day Cream Review: The cream has a wonderful light, fresh fragrance. The texture of the cream is thick and luxurious but melts into the skin immediately like water leaving no residue. It's not greasy or heavy for saying the texture is so rich. The cream leaves the skin feeling immediately nourished, plump and soft. I've used under primer and makeup with no issues whatsoever. Those with an oily complexion or a 'shiny' t-zone do get concerned that using creams under makeup will increase oiliness. Luckily I have had no issues with excess oil and I have found no difference in this whether I use the cream or not. A little goes a very long way. I've been using this for a number of weeks sometimes twice a day and I've barely dented the generously sized jar (50ml). I'm not sure if it's pure coincidence but my acne scarring and redness are calmed and much less noticeable. I also had a patch of dry skin around my nose which was extremely stubborn and didn't leave no matter how much moisturiser I put on has now disappeared. Overall, is this the perfect day cream? If you are looking for a high quality, luxurious day cream that is going to last (making it great value), go under makeup with no issues with a heap of natural benefits for your skin then this needs to be at the top of your list. If you are looking to add the benefits of CBD to your skincare regime this is a great place to start. I haven't stopped using it and glad a little goes a long way as I don't want it to run out! Maah Skin's Perfect Day CBD cream is available HERE for £38. FYI Beauty readers can benefit from FREE delivery when using the code fyi_beauty at checkout. Have you added CBD to your regime yet? • Top 5 Pixi Skincare Products (that actually work)

I have loved Pixi Beauty for years. They have so many beautiful products on offer from skincare to makeup. But, with so much choice which exactly are the best skincare products they have to offer? I thought I'd share with you my top 5 favourites from Pixi Beauty skincare that make a visible difference to my acne-prone, dehydrated skin. Pixi Glow Tonic Probably Pixi's most famous product. Glow Tonic has a cult following and for good reason. It's essentially a liquid exfoliator that can be used daily. It's formulated with glycolic acid to gently exfoliate, aloe vera to soothe and hydrate plus ginseng to improve circulation. It immediately leaves skin feeling refreshed, calmed and clean and over time with a beautiful luminosity. Pixi Rose Caviar Essence Rose Caviar Essence is virtually weightless! It's one of the most refreshing hydrating serums I've ever come across. The formula includes concentrated flower oils which literally melt into the skin leaving behind skin that is soft and fresh with no residue. Pixi Glow Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask If you want to give your skin a quick hydration boost this is the product. When my skin feels particularly dry I like to give it a drink! The sheet mask is soaked in a serum containing glycolic acid which brightens. Whilst herbal extracts help to improve and maintain skin health, promoting more luminous skin. After 10-15 minutes this reveals ultra plumped and glowing skin. I usually find that any dry patches have totally disappeared. My favourite time to use this is before applying makeup for a special occasion - it preps the skin perfectly so you have the best base to work on. At just over £3 per treatment they really are a bargain. Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream This product wasn't an instant love. It was one of those I had to go back to a few times before I decided that it was for me. Now, I use the Rose Ceramide each night (tip for oilier complexions) after applying the Rose Caviar. It has a ultra thick, rich and hydrating texture. It features rose oils and ceremide to nourish skin. Ceremides are essentially lipids (fatty acid) which help the skin form a barrier and retain moisture to release over time. As you can see from the picture mine is well loved! Pixi Peel & Polish This is a fairly new product that has entered my regime and it won't be leaving any time soon. Peel & Polish is essentially an exfoliator that is powerful yet gentle on the skin. It's one of the only exfoliators I've tried that you can actively feel working. It is formulated with latic acid which is a mild peeler that removes the top layer of the skin (you won't notice). Latic acid is also the perfect choice for those with sensitive skin as it's kinder than glycolic acid. After just a handful of uses there's a noticeable difference to a patch of hormonal cystic acne and scarring on my cheek. Although, you really can appreciate a more radiant appearance after just one use! You can find Pixi Beauty at the following retailers: Boots Look Fantastic Cult Beauty Which are your favourite pixi beauty skincare products? Let me know in the comments below. • Review: Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara UK

Too Faced have produced one of the world's best-selling mascaras with Better Than Sex. When I first saw that they were releasing a new one I had to try it. Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara promises extreme volume and thickness without the heavy feel. It comes in an intensely black shade with a formula that is smudge and flake free for 24 hours. Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Product Highlights: Exclusive dual-fiber “Infinity Brush” hugs, lifts, and curls Short bristles load the formula Long bristles dispense product evenly Delivers shocking volume, outrageous curl, and shamelessly thicker lashes Volumizing Lengthening Flake-resistant Smudge-resistant Non-Fading Deep Black Color Intensity Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Review: The packaging is stunning and unique. It feels like it's been cut from a diamond with it's mirror shine and angles. The mascara brush is huge and holds plenty of product. The formula of the mascara it's self is mousse like. It gives great volume and length to the lashes, but too many coats could result in spider lashes. It also provides a nice soft curl. It's a product that I've actually become to like the more I've used it - it took a little while to pull me away from Milk's Kush mascara! I've never experienced any flaking or smudging when wearing this throughout the day and sometimes into the night. Overall, if you are looking for a volumising and lengthening mascara in a deep black shade, that will stand with you for as long as needed, you'll get on with this well. Do I think it's beats Better Than Sex - yes! The Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara is available HERE and HERE now for £22 - you can also get it in a deluxe size (£12) if you want to give it a go before committing to full-size. • Worth The Splurge? Natasha Denona Coral Palette Review

I've finally taken the plunge and made my first Natasha Denona purchase. What took me so long? The price! But, I couldn't resist the latest ND five shade palette and its coral colour story. So perfect for summer. The Coral Palette features five shades in matte, metallic and sparkle finishes which you can mix and match to create flawless looks effortlessly. At £41 (£8.20 per shadow!!) is it worth the splurge? I have swatches and my thoughts to share with you so let's get to it... Natasha Denona Coral Palette Swatches: Natasha Denona Coral Palette swatches shades top to bottom: Kai, Lyria, Abalone, Dakota and Lola Natasha Denona Coral Palette Review: The packaging is simple but works well. I was surprised at the weight of the palette in hand - you can feel the quality. The pans are a really decent size. You get 2.5g of product per pan. You get three different formulas in the palette. All have very little kick back so is perfect for those who prefer to do their base before the eyes, they'll be no mess or cleaning up to do. The matte formula is smooth, creamy and blends effortlessly. It can easily be built up gradually to create your desired intensity. I start off with a bit at a time and build up as I go. The metallic shadows are intense, with rich colour-true payoff. The sparkle formula is sheer, with glitter but I don't find it gritty. The glitter is very fine and I'd consider it a grown-up way to do sparkle! The sheer base of the shadow helps the reflects of pink and lavender shine through. I have experienced no creasing on the lid when wearing the shadows. If you aren't usually into brighter shades the colour story isn't something to be afraid of. It's not a traditional coral palette and it's been designed to be very wearable and work for all skin tones. I'm no rainbow wearing, MUA yet I can pull these shades off and create a coordinating look easily. My favourite combo is packing Lyria (a coral pink) all over the lid and then blending into the crease and under the eye. I then use my finger to put Kai (a metallic champagne pink) into the centre and then finally add Abalone (a duo-chrome pink and lavender) to the inner corner for a pastel pop. In fact, I love this look so much that it's the only palette I've reached for since I received it and even joined me on a bank holiday weekend away! So, is it worth the splurge? Yes! I hadn't purchased the palette with the intention of reviewing it. I bought it simply because I wanted it, but I like it so much I had to tell you about it. I'm totally in love with the palette from the simple, travel-friendly size and packaging to the ease of creating looks. The formula - which is the true test is honestly now one of my favourites. The only problem is I'm now eyeing up other ND products I can't wait to try!! If you're looking to dive in and make your first ND purchase (like myself) then there is no better place to start. If you are a high-end makeup lover you'll also equally enjoy this one. The Natasha Denona Coral Palette is available HERE - where I also purchased this from priced £41. Which are your favourite Natasha Denona products? (So I can get ideas and try them too). Disclaimer: Links in this post may be affiliate. They do not cost you anything but mean I make a small percentage from the sale. Honesty is key here, thank you so much for supporting FYI Beauty. #NatashaDenona

  • Review: Me, Myself & Mmmmitchell Pressed Pigment Palette

Beauty Bay is about to drop their biggest collaboration yet and I feel so lucky to be able to share the details with you ahead of launch. Beauty Bay have teamed up with British MUA Mmmmitchell to bring us a new palette. The Me, Myself and Mmmmitchell pressed pigment palette contains 32 shadows in matte, shimmer and colour shifting duo-chrome finishes with a fantastic design. I have photos and swatches to show you today so let's dive straight in. Beauty Bay Me, Myself & Mmmmithell Palette Highlights: 32 super-intense pressed pigments Super-light pigments Next level colour pay-off Pigments can also be used as blush, highlighter or as desired Vegan Cruelty free Available HERE for £30 Beauty Bay Me, Myself & Mmmmithell Shade Descriptions: Manchester – a sunshine yellow matte Macaroni – a warm mustard matte Modest – a soft peach matte Melted – a true gold shimmer Mental – red-orange bright matte Man-Made – a warm brown matte Mixer – a rich yellow matte Muffin – a white base shimmer with pink reflects Muse – a warm burgundy-brown matte MMMMad – a bright red matte Mr.H – a soft peachy-pink matte Meaty – a warm shimmer Minnie – a rich dark red matte Morning Glory – a bright pink matte Milkshake – a bubble gum pink matte Michelle – a bright pink shimmer Main – a terracotta matte Monday – a chocolate brown matte Mafia – a deep black matte Master – a bronze shimmer Mardy – a deep khaki matte $hmoney – a bright green matte Meh – a warm-toned brown matte Minty – a white base shimmer with green reflects Marine – a white base shimmer with blue reflects Moody Mitch – a deep navy matte Mist – a true blue matte Miracle – a marine green matte Morgan – a bright purple matte Myles High – a soft lilac matte Motto – a rich purple matte Mega – a bright blue shimmer Beauty Bay Me, Myself & Mmmmithell Swatches: Beauty Bay Me, Myself & Mmmmithell Review: The palette's packaging is really something different. I love the small details to the outside which give a nod to Mitchell's hometown Manchester and his family. The palette opens like a book with two sides separated by a magnetic double-sided mirror - which I think is genius design. It can be flipped either way depending on the side of the palette you are using or can be removed altogether for total flexibility and ease of use. I can appreciate the design has been thoughtfully considered. The mirror feature offers something a little different in a market saturated with eyeshadow palettes - which I find refreshing. The palette contains every shade you could possibly need from cool-toned brown, bubble gum pink, soft lilac, bright green and warm tones. Making it ideal for anyone who is just building their collection or the perfect travel companion for those who are regularly on the go. The pans are extremely generous and contain 2.8g (0.09oz) of product. These are going to last ages which also makes them really good value for money (93p per shadow!!). The shadows themselves pack a punch and because they are pressed pigments a little goes a long way (again value for money!!). The shades which have a colour shift are Muffin, Minty and Marine and they are PRETTY but I do like the formula of Minty the most. The shimmers are intense and I especially love the shades, Michelle and Mega. The mattes are smooth and have great colour pay off. Overall, if you are looking for great quality shadows, value for money and something to begin your eyeshadow collection, are a frequent jet-setter or searching for a great all in one you'll love this. The Beauty Bay X Mmmmitchell Me, Myself and Mmmmitchell pressed pigment palette launches on 1 September 2019 HERE at 6pm BST priced £30. • Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Powders Review

Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powders are a finely milled loose powder with a matte finish. Each of the three shades provide a tint of colour that neutralises and balances the complexion. I have been trying out the Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powders over the last few months. Now I have thoroughly road tested them I am ready to share my thoughts along with swatches and a close-up of each shade. Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder Shades: Lace - a pale peach tint to neutralise darkness and balance out blue undertones in fair to light skin tones. Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder in shade Lace Biscuit - a subtle warm peach tint to neutralise darkness and balance out blue undertones in medium skin tones. Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder in shade Biscuit Amber - a subtle warm beige tint to brighten areas of darkness in medium to deep skin tones. Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder in shade Amber Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powders Swatches: Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder swatches in direct sunlight Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powders Review: As I have a fair complexion I have been using the shade lace. I have been using it both under the eyes and all over the face. As a baking powder under the eyes it sets concealer quickly and leaves a brightened, more awake appearance that is cake-free. When used all over the face to set foundation it provides a light veil with a matte finish. I use liberally in the t-zone to stay shine free throughout the day. Regarding the packaging, I like the fact that this doesn't have a filter over the powder. So you can use a much or as little powder at a time without being restricted and there is plenty of space to collect product on your beauty sponge or brush. Overall, for £6 this powder is a great drug-store find. It performs as expected lifting the complexion along the way providing light coverage with a matte, shine free finish. The Makeup Obsession Pure Bake Baking Powder is available at the following retailers: Revolution Beauty Boots Let me know in the comments below if you're going to be trying this loose powder?
