As you all enjoyed my debut favourites post (November Favourites) I thought I'd do it again! I don't often get to reflect on the products I have because I am constantly chasing the latest thing. So, I do really enjoy sitting back and selecting the items that have performed above and beyond my expectations. It also isn't often I get to recommend products to you all. So I love this new monthly instalment.
Here are my December favourites.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I tried the Gigi Hadid lipsticks. They are infinitely creamy and ultra pigmented. They are so easy and smooth to apply and glide onto the lips. They are a matte lipstick but feel very moisturising and comfortable to wear. They last a decent amount of time too. I bought shades from the East Coast Collection in Taura and Erin, but have been wearing Erin almost every day since I got it.
This powder has become my holy grail setting powder (I may or may not have ditched MAC's studio fix powder for it). Many of you will already know, I have an oily combination skin type. This powder keeps my skin matte all day with no oil breakthrough. I love to apply with a damp beauty blender to the under eye area where it little just melts into the skin. If I am applying all over the face I use a dense brush. It is so easy to work with. If you have an oily or oily combination skin type you should have this in your essential kit.
I have to admit I wasn't keen on this foundation at first, but the second time around and set with the right powder, it's beautiful. This foundation is FULL coverage! It's a very thick consistency and a little goes a lonnnnnnnng way - so be mindful of that when applying it. As it is so full coverage I have found it's best not to pair this with a full coverage powder. This avoids 'cake face' and really helps the foundation be more natural. I love setting the foundation with my Cover FX Matte Setting Powder. It makes it stay matte and in place all day long.
It's amazing the difference American English Haircare has made to my hair. I was sceptical at first, can splurging £23 on a shampoo really make a difference? Yes! It does. Using the shampoo and conditioner together, after just the second use I noticed a difference in how soft, smooth and shiny my hair is My hair seems to style easier and be more manageable - I think this must be down how healthy it is. My colleagues have even noticed my hair is shinier! American English's range is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The shampoo has no parabens or sulphates and is packed with goodness. It is a luxury, but why not treat yourself and look after your hair? I'm sure this is one splurge you won't regret.
I first starting using the Blenderelle back in July - you can see my review HERE. It has sat on my vanity ever since and has gone everywhere with me. This month I was sent Blenderelle's brand new shades Black and Rose Gold! Rose Gold has got to be my new favourite. The Blenderelle keeps your beauty sponge protected and dries it effectively. It is specially designed to prevent the damp sponges from going mouldy by providing ventilation. These are perfect if you're on the go or a bit of a jet-setter!
For my December Favourites tried to do a balance of affordable and luxury items so there is bound to be something here everyone can give a go.
I'd love to hear what your favourites have been this month in the comments section below.
I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
