  • MAC X Nicki Minaj Collection 2017 UK

If you are a fan of MAC you will know that this isn't the first time they have joined forces with the America rapper Nicki Minaj. You will remember that Nicki Minaj has previously released three lipsticks with MAC: Pink Friday in 2010, Viva Glam Nicki 1 in 2012 and Viva Glam Nicki 3 in 2013. We have also had a confirmation from MAC that the 2017 collection won't be the last time the duo collaborate and have promised something MAJOR coming in 2018. The 2017 collection sees no bright, popping pink shades as previously released and is dubbed the Nude Collection. I am sure will this will make the shades more desirable and wearable for a lot of fans - at the end of the day who doesn't love a nude lip! The MAC X Nicki Minaj Nude Collection is a vast one with 2 limited edition packaging lipsticks where the shades have been designed by Nicki herself, 18 lipsticks, 6 lip glasses and 8 lip pencils all in 2 undertones. I have each and every shade included right here: Nicki Minaj Special Edition Packaging Lipsticks (£16.50): The Pink Print - Mid-tone creamy pink (Amplified) (Limited Edition) Nicki's Nudes - Soft corally pink (Amplified) (Limited Edition) Pictures taken from YouTube: @NikkiTutorials Lipsticks Standard Packaging (£16.50): Pretty Please - Pale pink pearl (Lustre) (Permanent) Gossamer Wing - Dirty beige with gold pearl (Lustre) (Repromote) (Limited Edition) 2N - Creamy light pink (Lustre) (Repromote) (Limited Edition) Playing Koi - Pale clean pink nude (Satin) (Repromote) (Limited Edition) Creme D'Nude - Pale muted peach beige (Cremesheen) (Permanent) Japanese Maple - Frosted light beige (Cremesheen) (Permanent) Bare Bling - Light peachy nude (Amplified) (Limited Edition) Stripped - Light, dirty peachy beige (Matte) (Limited Edition) The Right Note - Warm sandy nude (Cremesheen) (Limited Edition) A Girl's Got Needs - Warm-toned yellow brown (Matte) (Limited Edition) Patisserie - Sheer creamy neutral pink (Lustre) (Permanent) MMMMMM - Dirty rose nude (Amplified) (Limited Edition) Bosom Friend - Sheer pinky nude with fine pearl (Cremesheen) (Limited Edition) Baby's All Right - Cool-toned neutral pink (Matte) (Limited Edition) Age/Sex/Location - Dirty mid-tone nude (Matte) (Limited Edition) Easy Babe - Dirty latte brown (Matte) (Limited Edition) Derriere - Dirty mid-tone yellow brown (Matte) (Limited Edition) Among The Fireflies - Soft mocha (Cremesheen) (Repromote) (Limited Edition) Lipglass (£15.50): Under The Sheets - Light nude with gold pearl N-U-D-E - Sheer pinky nude Please Me - Muted rosy tinted pink Beaux - Warm brown (Permanent) Spice - Mid-tone neutral nude (Permanent) Spite - Muted plum taupe brown (Permanent) Lip Pencil (£13.00): Naked Liner - Light neutral (Permanent) Spice - Pink cinnamon stick (Permanent) Stripdown - Creamy brown beige (Permanent) Boldly Bare - Dirty red brown (Permanent) Soar - Mid-tone pinkish brown (Permanent) Hover - Rich caramel brown (Permanent) Cork - Muted gold brown (Permanent) Whirl - Dirty rose (Permanent) This collection is very extensive and you may be thinking what on earth do I get? I would definitely advise purchasing the special edition packaging lipsticks FAST - I predict a sell out. After this I would pick items which are limited edition. • Makeup Revolution Kabuki Brush Review

It's a tough job getting me to ditch the BeautyBlender to apply my makeup. However, when I saw @Sophdoesnails on the Makeup Revolution Instagram page using this, I really wanted to try it for myself. The Makeup Revolution Kabuki Brush is a new addition to their range and launched just a week or so ago. The oval Kabuki Brush is in an on trend copper hue. It claims to "enable swift and easy application of powdered makeup products" and is "excellent for powder, blush and bronzing as well as cream products". However, on its actual packaging, it also claims that it can also be used to apply foundation. With this, I am assuming they are referring to liquid formulas. On first impressions this hand held brush is nicely weighted with lovely soft bristles which are densely packed. It fits perfectly into the palm of the hand and has a depression on the top to assist grip. Now for the road test, does it apply my makeup flawlessly? I primed my face with my usual primer and then went on to use Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup foundation. The application was nice and quick due to the fair size of the brush. It applied beautifully to the large areas of my face e.g. the cheeks, chin and forehead. However, the nose was where I experienced difficulties. No matter how much foundation I applied it seemed to swipe away and I was left with nothing to the bridge of my nose. In the end, I had to resort to getting the BeautyBlender out to correct this. I then went on to apply my powder which is the Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. The kabuki brush picked up the powder well from the compact and applied it very nicely to the face. I decided to road test this for a second time the following day. This time, using a different foundation formula to see if it performed better. I used the Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid. This formula has a thicker consistency than the Urban Decay foundation. The brush applied this foundation so much better and I had no issues with coverage on the nose. I then went on to apply my powder, bronzer and blusher. It picked each product up well and it was so easy to apply, quick and blended nicely. I actually really like this kabuki brush. One thing that I love is that it makes application very quick. Making it perfect for when you're dashing off to work, school etc. So it certainly lives up to its claim. It feels great on the face as it's so soft and dense. The only time you may run into issues is if you are using this to apply a foundation with quite a watery consistency. However, I really do recommend getting one and trying it out for yourself. The Makeup Revolution Kabuki Brush costs £9.99 and can be purchased HERE. Which is your favourite makeup brush? If you enjoyed this product review why not check out my Blenderelle review HERE. Thank you for reading #MakeupRevolution

  • The Blenderelle. Do You Need One?

Since it's launch in 2007 the BeautyBlender has become one of our holy grail products and there isn't a makeup bag without at least one. Although it's fantastic at helping us achieve a flawless complexion it isn't without its own flaws. The BeautyBlender is actually quite the bacteria magnet. One of the ideal conditions for assisting bacteria to grow is moisture - what do you do with your BeautyBlender every day? Dampen it? Along with the material of the BeautyBlender thrown in with a little heat during the summer months and you have yourself a bacteria hot spot growing in your makeup bag or dressing table. The ingenious minds at NYC Designed based in the USA saw this issue and created the Blenderelle which is a storage case for your BeautyBlender or sponge. The Blenderelle is a pretty, tulip shaded design and the perfect size to fit your sponge in. The flower design cut out to the side looks pretty, but it actually serves a purpose and that is for ventilation so your beauty sponge can dry out effectively. It is made from durable antimicrobial plastic which prevents bacteria growth and odour - so clever! The case just twists open and shut and you can pop it into your bag or leave it to look pretty on your dressing table. You can see it in action below: Unsurprisingly, The Blenderelle has been given many 4 and 5 star reviews by consumers. I have been road testing the ones that NYC Designed very kindly sent to me for a little over a month now. To be honest it's become a necessity. I think at first you feel, do I really need to spend money on a case for my beauty sponge? But the answer is yes! Once you have, you will for sure be glad you did. It's the perfect travel companion for festivals, holidays, gym, work, in fact when ever you are on the go. It is also a great size to fit into any makeup bag or case. Keeping everything protected and clean. Practicalities aside, it is also a really charming addition to your dressing table. The Blenderelle storage case is available in metallic pink or pearly cream and is available HERE at Amazon for just £12. All orders are fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk to save our pennies on international shipping.

  • The £16 Naked Heat Dupe

If you weren't one of the 5,000 lucky people who managed to get their hands on the new Urban Decay Naked Heat palette during the super limited pre-sale earlier this month, I have good news! There is a dupe by a well loved, cult brand that will only cost £16! The NYX Ultimate palette in warm neutrals with it's "scorched" shades such as shimmering coppers, matte browns with red and burnt orange is very comparable to the Naked Heat. Setting you back just £16 this comes in at £23.50 cheaper. Although the NYX palette doesn't come with a mirror or a brush I think it is the perfect alternative if you are on a budget or wish to get a similar look. The Naked eyeshadow palettes are the ultimate favourite for makeup lovers and collectors the world over since it's initial launch in 2010. In 2016 the original Naked palette was the U.K's best selling eyeshadow palette. An item from Urban Decay's Naked collection is sold every 90 seconds here and every 5 seconds across the world. So, equally you wouldn't go far wrong in splurging on the Naked Heat. The Urban Decay Naked Heat palette launches on the 27 July HERE and the NYX Ultimate palette in warm neutrals is available now HERE. What are your thoughts? Would you go for splurge or save?

  • The Body Scrub With A 55,000 Strong Wait List

It isn't a typo! It does exist; a body scrub that has amassed around 55,000 people signing up for it's pre-launch wait list. It may not be a surprise to you when I say it is of course, unicorn inspired. The latest product to enter the phenomenon is a coffee based body scrub by Australian brand Frank Body. How does a coffee body scrub become "unicorn"? By adding lots of glitter and housing it in a silver and pink, iridescent packaging of course. Aptly named Shimmer Scrub Frank Body says it contains "tiny gold and silver particles which hug your skin, just like highlighter for your bod." The scrub also claims to "make your skin shimmer, like a disco ball". But how? "it comes down to four things, really: coffee, sugar, glow dust and a shot of hydration". The coffee, sugar and glow dust aka mica exfoliate the skin and polishes away dead skin cells. To give skin hydration Grapeseed oil & Vitamin E act like a drink of water for your skin. This simple body scrub has beauty editors, influencers and bloggers raving and is said to do exactly what it says on the tin. The Limited Edition Shimmer Scrub launched on the 01 May 2017. You will be pleasantly surprised to know that it is available HERE in the UK. It costs £15.95 for 200g of product. If you are tempted to give this a try I would be quick as it is expected to not hang around for long!

  • Worth The Hype? Estee Lauder Heat Wave

We have all been drooling over photos on Instagram of Estee Lauder Heat Wave for what feels like forever! But, is it worth the hype? The products official name is Bronze Goddess Heat Wave Illuminating Powder Gelee. It is part of the SS17 Bronze Goddess Collection. It is actually a relaunch of Heat Wave circa 2013 with an updated look - which you can now find on eBay for upwards of £230! Back at it's original launch this was considered to be a most innovative product. Heat Wave is limited edition and for £34 you receive 7g of product. The formula is described as a "super-luxurious, all-over bronzer that builds to a luminous pearl highlight". It really isn't your typical bronzer. Heat Wave is a bright, medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. I would consider this to be much more typical of your usual highlighter. It certainly is a buildable shade and easy to apply. It can be applied dry or wet. As expected, I found the 'glow' to be much more intense and deeper when applied wet. It is a soft and smooth formula. Although, it looks very glittery in some parts in the pan this is just an over spray and once applied this really doesn't translate. It layers well with blush, but can of course be worn alone. (Click on the pictures below to enlarge them). The packaging has a stunning rose gold, spiral pattern to the lid with a contrasting teal magnetic clasp. Despite it's sturdy look, it is deceivingly made of plastic and quite light. (Click on the pictures below to enlarge them). Summary: Due to it's buildable formula Heat Wave fits both preferences; whether you like a lit from within, natural glow or an intense glow . The shade is too dark for my fair skin (NC15) particularly when applied wet - it looks dirty. This would be perfect for medium to deep skin tones. I feel the packaging is a little disappointing for the price point. Although looks beautiful, I think the plastic is too light and the price doesn't translate to a luxurious feeling. In my opinion the product and formula do live up to the hype. I am really glad I have this in my collection - now I just need to go and get a tan so I can actually wear it in public :). Bronze Goddess Heat Wave Illuminating Powder Gelee is available now HERE exclusively until the 01 June. After this time, I would expect it to be available along with the other items in the Bronze Goddess collection at all Estee Lauder stockists and counters. Until next time beauties #EsteeLauder
