When I asked you beauties over on Instagram whether you would like to see a 'favourites' blog post from me... over 80% said YES! It's the 1st of December so I thought I would kick things off with my best loved products from the month. There is all sorts of products from mascara to hair care, so if your looking for something new to try here is a great place to start. Cover FX Mattifying Primer With Anti-Acne Treatment - £29 I have oily skin so I am constantly looking for primers that will keep shine at bay. I also suffer from break-outs. This primer has a gel like consistency and is super light weight. It mattifies the skin as soon as it is applied and creates a smooth base for makeup. This primer has definitely become a staple in my essential collection. Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash - Black - £20.50 I'm sure the majority of you will have already tried and tested this one. However, I've only just got round to trying it! What I love about this mascara is how it separates and lengthens the lashes. There is no clumping or spidery lashes when using this. The wand is also perfect for the lower lashes. MAC Cosmetics Snow Ball Collection Show Gold - £35 I bought this highlighter as part of the Snow Ball Collection Peach face bag. The shade Show Gold is absolutely stunning. It is the most stunning light gold with a pink-peach shift. This is in the Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula which is extra glowy and intense - just the way I like it! You can also purchase this shade individually as it is part of the MAC's permanent collection for £24.50 HERE. But I would highly recommend getting it in the Snow Ball Collection special edition packaging while you still can. Caudalie Resveratrol Eye Lifting Balm - £36 This is the first product I've ever tried from Caudalie. I usually find that eye creams/serums make my eyes stream or sting. However, this is one of the first eye products which I can use on my seemingly sensitive eyes. It feels cool and soothing when applied. It sits well under makeup. You can use it all over the eye area including the lids. It is unscented, which I like. A little also goes a long way. I usually just pat it on and let my skin drink it up. I received this as a deluxe sample with a Space NK order, but I think I'll soon be investing in the full-size. Garnier Ultimate Blends Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner - £2.50 each I'm already on my second bottles of these this month. If you love coconut scents you'll adore this. It not only smells lush but it really does make the hair feel hydrated and light weight. For those with dry hair, we couldn't ask for more. If I know that I'm in for a long day or going on a night out I always use this to set my face as I know it will keep me looking my best. Reviews rating: 4 stars ​​ Farsali - Volcanic Elixir - £40.50 (RRP £45) - saving £5 Farsali is one of those new social media brands which has burst onto the scene with glowing reviews from beauty bloggers and huge social influencers. This is a light weight moisturiser which can be used to treat your skin during the night. The Volcanic Elixir is specifically formulated for break out prone skin and contains anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties. Reviews rating: 5 star ​​ Morphe Brushes - 35T 35 Color Taupe Palette - £16.10 (RRP £23) - saving £6.90 Morphe offer great quality shadows at affordable prices. Usually, because they are so affordable they rarely go on offer so this is a real treat. The 35T has almost 300 5 star reviews and contains 35 shades of metallic copper and gold to peachy nudes and matte beiges. Whilst on offer it works out that these shadows only cost around 46p each! I am sure no one can argue this is a serious bargain. I am a huge fan of the Huda Beauty 3D highlighter palettes so when I saw that she was releasing a Winter Solstice Edition I knew I needed to have it. I have the Pink Sands Edition and Summer Solstice Edition in my collection so I am able to compare whether it lives up to the same high standard. Like its predecessors the Winter Solstice Highlighter Palette contains 4 shades - 1 cream and 3 powder. The shades are: Frosted Kiss - signature melted strobe formula with shea butter has been refreshed for winter in an icy, iridescent pink. Arctic Glow - multi-tonal opalescent shade with flecks of blue and lavender pearls. Northern Lights - holographic highlighter with duochrome tones of soft gold and bronze. Winter Rose - rosy-pink powder highlighter that has a shot of silver. The first thing that really hits you about this palette is the packaging. If you are one who is all about the packaging then you will absolutely adore this. The packaging is made from a heavy cardboard and has a magnetic close. Huda as a winter goddess graces the front of the palette and has holographic detailing to the high points of her face and in the background. This makes it looks magnificent and so very instragrammable! I have felt that Huda tends to create palettes more suited to medium to deeper skin tones in the past. I was glad to see that with this palette she had created some cooler tones more wearable on my fair skin. Frosted kiss has a real duo chrome shift to it. It appears almost white in the pan, but has a bright, hot pink shift to it. It looks a lot more subtle when swatched or once applied to the face. It is a cream highlighter but is thin which makes it buildable. This shade can be used as a base layer with one of the powder highlighters on top. They best way to apply this product would be to use the fingers and then perhaps a beauty sponge to blend out. As it is a cream it reacts to warmth so applying it with the fingers helps. Arctic Glow is a medium cool toned blue-lavender powder. Northern Lights is a cool, light gold highlighter which almost looks yellow on my skin tone. Winter Rose is a medium pink tone which shifts pink to coral. The powders are so dense, it's almost like a cream. It is the ultimate soft, silky powder and feels like butter in the hands. As these powders are so dense you do need a denser brush or heavy hand to be able to pick them up. Winter Rose makes the most beautiful blush topper and the other shades also look great on the eyes. This is definitely a useage you can consider if your not into stronger shades. Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Palette: Close Up Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Palette: Swatches with flash. Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Palette: Swatches without flash. Overall, if you are a collector of Huda Beauty this is a must have for your collection. Equally, if you are new to Huda Beauty then I think this is the perfect product to introduce you to the line. You will be blown away by the packaging and the quality of the powders. When you think of a Morphe dupe what do you think of? Cheap Chinese knock-off? Ashy shadows? Something breaking in your hands? Well, Sample Beauty offer none of those things, you'll be glad to hear! Like you, I am always dubious when people say 'dupe'. You're concerned that the quality is compromised and not up to par to a brand we have come to trust. Sample Beauty offer some palettes which look pretty much identical to social influencer favourite brand Morphe. A lot of my friends on social media were raving about them. So, I decided I had to give them a try myself. Here I have the Sample Beauty Warm palette which is based on the Morphe cult favourite 35O palette which I also have so I can compare the quality of the two. The Warm palette is made of sturdy black plastic which certainly doesn't feel flimsy in the hand. The palette itself contains 35 scorched neutral tones in shimmer and matte finishes. It is a go-to palette that is great for all year round. On first impressions the shadows are soft and full of pigment. Pictured: Sample Beauty Warm Palette When testing these on the eyes they are easy to apply, buildable and blend effortlessly. There is some fall out from the palette, but no more or less than you would usually expect and I would say is fairly equivalent to the Morphe palette. However, it's not one of these eyeshadow palettes that make huge a mess on your face with fall out! I feel that the shimmer and mattes all performed equally to each other. I wore the shadows for a night out and they lasted very well. There was no awful fading or embarrassing makeup disaster. Now, I have some swatches to show you. The quality certainly matches that to other more well known palettes we love. I think this palette in particular, is a staple in your collection that can be used all year round so a great investment.
